On the 27th of October we will be having a Halloween fun day in the school. Children can come in dressed up in their costumes, if they wish to do so, and we will all take part in a spooky walk around the area @ 10:45. From 11:15 the Parents’ Association will be running some Halloween games in the parents’ room, each class will go with their teacher to play the games. If you are free on the morning of the 27th please come in and lend a hand as we will need as many adults as possible to ensure our spooky walk and games are safe and fun. If parents would like to dress up please do!
If you are free please text Ms. Murphy and let her know on 0863311996
On Friday the 13th both Mr Looney’s 5th class and Ms O’Reilly’s 5th class visited the Hell Fire Club on the top of Mount Pelier Hill in Dublin. We departed at 11 o’ clock and spent the rest of the school day exploring, learning and walking.
Lots of learning took place as we hiked to the top of the hill. We learned about the history of the Hell Fire Club, focail nua as Gaeilge and when we got to the very top we looked at the beautiful view of Dublin City. Some of us were even able to spot St. Dominics. Everyone listened very carefully as we all took part in a fun quiz at the end of our adventure.
It was a spooky adventure as not only was it Friday the 13th but Mr. Looney told us a scary story while were inside the Hell Fire Club! There were lots of screams and shrieks!!
