St Dominic’s NS History – We need your help!

Mr Looney’s 5th Class are starting a class project on the history of St Dominic’s NS, which was founded as Our Lady of Loreto Boys and Girls schools 50 years ago this year. We know many of our past pupils are now parents and even grandparents of our current pupils. We’d love if any of our past pupils or other members of the community could get in touch to help out our project over the new week or so. Here are some things we’d like help with:

  1. Are you a past pupil who is available for interview? We’d like to interview past pupils of St Dominic’s/Loreto from across all five decades of the school’s past. Please get in touch and we will arrange for an interview by email.
  2. Do you know of any famous past pupils, or others who have had some interesting achievements or adult lives after attending our school? We are looking to compile a list of these past pupils and would love to hear from them or about them.
  3. Have you any pictures of school life from the past? We’ve lots of old Communion and Confirmation pictures, and plenty of photos from the last 20 years or so, but if you have any photos of the school or the pupils from 1970-2000 we’d love to receive them and use them in our project. We might also post them on our school website, so please only send them in if you are happy for us to do so.

Please feel free to share this message on social media and using Whatsapp groups, etc. If you can help out with any of the above over the next few days, or have any other ideas or questions, please email Mr Looney at dlooney@stdominicsns.ie . Many thanks.
