Survey request for parents and adults in our community for 6th class research
Back in November two of our 6th class pupils and Green Schools reps, Holly and Shriya from Mr Brennan’s class entered the SEAI One Good Idea competition. The girls’ idea is to bring awareness the energy usage in our homes and to provide practical tips on how we can reduce our energy use and in turn our energy bills. Their focus is on the washing machine, an essential part of our daily lives but one that can be a drain on both electricity and water.
Prior to the Christmas holidays, the girls were delighted to hear that they had got through to the regional finals in the Omniplex Rathmines, in February. In December, with the help of their Green Schools committee members they conducted and Energy audit and put together a Kahoot Quiz and survey which was undertaken by senior pupils from 3rd – 6th class.
They are currently working on a one minute film to spread their message with help from Tymoteusz in Mr Donnellan’s 5th class. To inform their research they have put together a short survey for parents/guardians, grandparents, staff and other adults in our community. Please take a few minutes to take the survey, it would be much appreciated.
