Boys Junior Gaelic Footballers – Group Winners!

Well done to our Boys Gaelic football panel who have finished joint top of GoGames Group 8 after four great games this season.

Our final match took place in St Aidan’s on Wednesday. It was a superb game with both teams notching up high scores. Amongst the scorers for Dominic’s were Dylan O and Seán-Lee (5th Ms Duffy), and Kyle and Lucas (4th Mr Looney). Man of the match was Eddie (5th Ms Duffy) who was tenacious in defence.

Although St Aidan’s won the match, our boys put in a great second half performance, outscoring the home side in the second half.

St Dominic’s finish the season with 3 wins and one loss, with St Aidan’s having an identical record. Therefore, both teams finish joint top of the group. All 25 pupils who took part in training and matches will have this great achievement acknowledged at the next school Assembly.

We are proud of the boys’ skills development and good effort over the past six weeks. Thanks to Stephen from Thomas Davis who has taken the boys for training on Tuesdays as well as our own training on Mondays. We look forward to many of these players stepping up to our senior panel next year.

Our school has now finished Gaelic football for senior boys, girls and junior boys this term. Basketball continues for senior pupils. Soccer will begin for boys after Halloween with hurling, camogie and other sports beginning in the new year.
