4th Class Heritage Walk in Tallaght Village

Friday saw our two 4th classes take a trip to Tallaght Village to learn all about our local history, geography and nature. We first visited the grounds of the Priory, viewing the remains of the Archbishop’s Bathhouse and the remaining tower of the 13th century Tallaght Castle. We then looked at some of the history of the village itself before visiting the grounds of St Maelruain’s Church of Ireland and graveyard. We also looked at the site of the Battle of Tallaght during the Fenian Uprising of 1867 and even posed like the Dancers statue! The rain didn’t dampen our spirits or our learning!
