Sam and Brendan come back to Dominic’s!

It’s always nice to welcome visitors to our school. It’s even nicer when they come back more often that we might expect. Two very special guests made repeat appearances in our Halla this afternoon – Brendan Martin and Sam Maguire!

We welcomed back the Brendan Martin Cup for the second year in the row. It was brought by two of the Dubs team who won it in the All-Ireland final in September and who play with our local club, Thomas Davis. Olwen Carey and Siobhán McGrath were on hand to answer pupils’ questions and inspire a new generation of girls and boys to play for their school, club and, maybe, county!

Meanwhile, we welcomed the Sam Maguire trophy back to our school. For our older pupils, this is the SIXTH time seeing Sam since 2011! Hopefully we might get to welcome him back if Dublin achieve the five-in-a-row in 2019!

Our girls and boys Gaelic footballers were among the lucky few who got their pictures taken with Sam and Brendan. Here are some of these photos of this great occasion. Thanks to Stephen, Olwen, Siobhán and all at Thomas Davis for helping to organise the event.
