Our School’s iPad Investment

Our school recently invested in a collection of new iPads for educational use. This is a major cost to the school but we believe it will be worthwhile in offering further learning opportunities to our pupils. Our teachers, led by the school’s ICT team, have been busy researching, ordering, installing and learning about the educational apps and other technology for use in the classroom. The iPads compliment our existing ICT provision, which includes a computer room, interactive whiteboards in every classroom, laptops and other specialist equipment.

iPads will be available for all classes in the school, junior and senior, as well as resource and special education groups. Their use is governed by our school’s “Acceptable Use Policy” and will always be under the supervision of a teacher. We would ask for some patience as we work through any potential teething problems. The number of devices available is quite limited at present, but it is our hope that by the end of the school year, all pupils will get an opportunity to use the devices in class.

Here’s a couple of snaps of our 5th Class pupils using iPads for the first time. We are looking forward to seeing more of these used in the time ahead!
