Sam visits Dominic’s – again!

Another year, another visit from Sam Maguire to St Dominic’s! We had a great morning in the Halla welcoming Sam for the fourth time since 2011. The trophy was brought in by Dublin panel member Collie Basquel and he answered lots of questions from keen pupils. Our girls’ and boys’ football teams had their pics taken, along with a few others! Check out our pictures below.

St Dominic’s Show Racism the Red Card!

Our school was delighted to take part in the inaugural Show Racism the Red Card “Wear Red Day” today. Staff and pupils alike took part in the day to celebrate the diversity of our school and to say no to racism.

Staff and senior pupils wore red jerseys, t-shirts and tops to help promote the message against racism. Ms Tighe’s 1st Class watched a story called “A Crayon Box That Talked” and made red cards – check out their angry faces below in saying no to racism! Pupils from 4th to 6th class watched a DVD showing the effects of racism on young people and promoting a positive message from football, GAA and rugby stars. Ms Hogan’s 4th/5th class did some anti-racism artwork while Mr Looney’s 6th Class performed a “Mannequin Challenge” to highlight the Show Racism the Red Card campaign.

You can check out the Mannequin Challenge here and see photos of the day below!
