Dominic’s Boys making great progress

Our boys Gaelic footballers have made remarkable progress in the last few weeks. Today’s game away to Sacred Heart Killinarden showed just how far they’ve come in a keenly-fought, end-to-end thriller played in subshine and strong wind. Although Sacred Heart ran out the victors by two points, Dominic’s pushed them all the way and were perhaps unlucky not to draw the game at least.

Man of the match was our sole representative from 4th class, Shane. He pulled off several great saves and showed his kicking ability throughout. He was ably assisted by a resolute Doninic’s defence, including full back Cain, corner backs Dionese and Wiktor, and half backs Conor and Eoin (all 6th class). Our centre fielders Jack (6th) and Calum (5th) dominated the second half. Half forwards Shane, Paul and Jamie were amongst the fittest players on the pitch, while full forwards Scott, Seán, Alex and Ben gave the home team much to worry about.

Dominic’s goal came from Jamie, with points from Scott (2), Seán and Paul. We play our final group game next week. Hopefully our improvement continues! Well done, lads!
